1. 5 Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this?
2. 6 And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:
3. 7 And she said, Let me glean, I pray you, and gather after the reapers among the sheaves. So she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, save that she tarried a little in the house.
4. 8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither pass from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens.
5. 9 Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
6. 10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found favor in thy sight, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a foreigner?
7. 11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been showed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother-in-law since the death of thy husband; and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people that thou knewest not heretofore.
8. 12 Jehovah recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of Jehovah, the God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to take refuge.

  Disse então Boaz a Rute: "Ouça bem, minha filha, não vá colher noutra lavoura, nem se afaste daqui. Fique com minhas servas. Preste atenção onde os homens estão ceifando, e vá atrás das moças que vão colher. Darei ordem aos rapazes para que não toquem em você. Quando tiver sede, beba da água dos potes que os rapazes encheram".

  Boaz foi até Rute e disse: ´Ouça, minha filha. Quando for colher espigas, fique conosco; não vá a nenhum outro campo. Acompanhe as moças que trabalham para mim. Observe em que parte do campo estão colhendo e vá atrás delas. Avisei os homens para não a tratarem mal. E, quando tiver sede, sirva-se da água que os servos tiram do poço`.

Não dei ordem aos servos, que te não toquem? Quando tiveres sede, vai às vasilhas e bebe do que os servos tiraram.

  Então, disse Boaz a Rute: Não ouves, filha minha? Não vás colher a outro campo, nem tampouco passes daqui; porém aqui te ajuntarás com as minhas moças. Os teus olhos estarão atentos no campo que segarem, e irás após elas; não dei ordem aos moços, que te não toquem? Tendo tu sede, vai aos vasos e bebe do que os moços tirarem.

  Então Boaz disse a Rute: - Escute, minha filha. Não vá catar espigas em nenhuma outra plantação. Fique aqui e trabalhe perto das minhas empregadas. Preste atenção e fique com elas no campo onde vão cortar espigas. Eu dei ordem aos empregados para não mexerem com você. Quando ficar com sede, beba da água que os empregados tirarem para beber.
